Bella Via History
Bella Via occupies what was once the Sherwood Friends Church. Originally built in 1912 as a Quaker Church it remained such until 1971. For the next two decades local artist Stewart Olsen and his wife used the upstairs as a home, while the downstairs served as his stained glass art studio. To this date, his stained glass windows add character and beauty to the main floor ballroom. In the early 1990’s until most recently, the building has housed an event facility and neighborhood restaurant. In mid 2010 the building was purchased and a complete remodel of the aging historic building began.
Bella Via has strived to become a venue that embraces its history, keeping elements of the building’s original character and charm while bringing the facility into the modern era.
We are proud to be a part of the City of Sherwood’s Urban Renewal Plan and enjoy adding to the already amazing history of this unique building.
